Laos
To enter Laos is to enter a timeless zone. Monks in saffron robes, old women embroidering at their market stalls, jungles, towering mountains and delightful towns. A peaceful land where nothing happens quickly - the friendliest country in Asia.
Laos's isolation from foreign influence offers travellers an unparalleled glimpse of traditional Southeast Asian life. From the fertile lowlands of the Mekong River to the rugged Annamite highlands, Laos is the highlight of Southeast Asia.

When to go...
Laos is mostly a hot country with a rainy season from May to October and dry season from November to April. Year round temperatures range from the upper 20's Celcius to the mid 30's Celcius. The only exception is the mountain regions in the north where temperatures plummet near freezing in December and January. The only months to really avoid are February and March when local people burn the fields and forests to prepare for their annuals crops, making it very hot and smoky.
